Support groups are a great way to build community with other Parkinson's patients, caregivers, families and friends.
From their website: "Support groups provide a place for people impacted by Parkinson's disease and parkinson's to share information and experiences. This includes patients, families, caregivers, and friends. Groups may host presentations by professionals, such as neurologists with expertise in movement disorders,fitness trainers with PD experience, financial or legal planners who can help with medical billing and insurance issues, home care providers, etc."

Medicare Low-Income Subsidy (LIS)

If you are currently enrolled in Medicare Part D drug benefit programs, then you may be eligible for the low-income subsidy. You could be paying as low as $6.30 for branded pharmaceuticals for Parkinson’s Disease.

If you are currently receiving the Medicare Low-Income Subsidy (Extra Help), are over the age of 65 and receiving Medicaid benefits, are paying $6.30 or less on your prescriptions at the pharmacy, then you may qualify for LIS.

The Assistance Fund
Parkinson’s medications can be costly but there are many financial assistance programs that can help you with your copays and deductibles. The goal of the Assistance Fund is to provide education and financial aid to chronically ill individuals so they can receive the therapies and care they need.
